Restoration
If you suspect you are a victim of identity theft, Talk to an Expert immediately - we'll conduct a quick interview to capture the essential details of your particular situation and you'll be connected with a dedicated Fraud Investigator who will assume overall responsibility for working with you through the restoration process.

During your initial interview with our Experts, you'll be given an option to sign a Limited Power of Attorney (LPoA). While various types of identity restoration services obligate you to personally attend to these matters, a signed LPoA will allow us to work directly with most creditors and other agencies on your behalf. We'll be able to:
- Issue fraud alerts to the national credit bureaus (such as Equifax and TransUnion) on your behalf and work with these agencies to restore your credit rating.
- Where possible, liaise with officials of government offices, creditors, and financial institutions on your behalf to dispute fraudulent accounts.

Our dedicated Fraud Investigator will also:
- Assist in confirming that an identity theft event has occurred and the nature of the fraud.
- Assist in organizing details of the issues; provide a thorough explanation of the process to be undertaken and your responsibilities within this process.
- Assist in reading and understanding the contents of any Credit Reports.
- Assist in gathering and completing paperwork, including police reports.
- Deliver a personalized Identity Theft Package. In addition to providing an explanation of the package contents and a list of key contact numbers, we'll provide details of what to do with the paperwork we've included and where it should be sent. We'll even provide pre-addressed envelopes!
- Provide ongoing follow-up and consultative advice throughout the restoration process... until you're satisfied that the restoration process is complete.

If one or more of your bank accounts has to be closed as a result of identity theft, IDefence representatives will undertake the following actions:
- We will provide you with free replacement cheques.
- We will provide assistance with the switching of pre-authorized debits and credits to your new bank account.
